Sarvebhyo Namaskaara:
As kids, most of us learned to speak out mother-tongue without having to learn lessons on Grammar or having to write prose and poetry. A language is best taught (and learned) by object/word association and sheer practice..
I remember young volunteers from Samskrita Bharathi had come to our school during the 10 day Dusshera vacation to teach us Sanskritham. I had the opportunity to attend and enjoy the 10 day session, at the end of which we learned to give a short speech at the community center. The class that I attended was taught by one Shri Guravarajulu... He began with 'mama naama guravaraaja:, bhavatha: naama kim?' and the passion for Sanskrit has not ceased since :) I have conducted a few Samskrita Bharathi workshops here in the Vancouver area, and am actively promoting it (FOR FREE...)
Here are Samskrita Bharathi's 20 VCD lessons (available on youtube.) Please watch it SEQUENTIALLY, and practice it with your family members... I hope that atleast a few of us will be able to introduce ourselves in Samskritham when we meet in Vegas:)
